Hartmann has just entered a new research and development partnership with Innventia - a world leader in research and development relating to pulp, paper and packaging. The purpose is to find new combinations and types of renewable and natural fibres that will lead to new business opportunities for Hartmann.
The three-year R&D partnership with Innventia will provide Hartmann with access to research at the highest international level, state-of-the art laboratory and pilot plant equipment. As a partner Hartmann will also benefit from new funding possibilities and reduced risks as investment costs are shared between the participating companies.
Boosting business with science
“We are looking forward to our innovation partnership with Hartmann. Our unique ability is to translate research into innovative products and processes. We call our approach boosting business with science,” says Executive Vice President, Anders Engström, from Innventia.
A natural choice of materials
“The new research partnership will focus on renewable and natural composite materials. Using composite materials Hartmann has a possibility to create a new strategic position on the market,” says Hartmann inventor Torben Rasmussen.
Sustainable product development
Considerations regarding sustainability – financial, social and environmental – will be included from the start.
“By using methods for sustainable product development in the development of new material, in product design and product specifications the sustainability performance of our products can be improved,” concludes Tomas Schou Winther, Corporate Manager for Business Sustainability & Development in Hartmann.
