Hartmann has just renewed it's support to the UN Global Compact initiative for the sixth time. As a member Hartmann needs to follow ten principles and report on them annually.
In September 2003 Hartmann joined the UN Global Compact, which commits Hartmann to integrate the Global Compact and its ten principles into the strategy, culture and daily practice of our business operations, and furthermore publish annually on the progress and in general advocate the global initiative.
“Hartmann’s overall goal is to be the market’s preferred supplier of sustainable moulded-fibre packaging and thereby create value for customers, shareholders and employees. Our sustainability performance is an important part of the long-term value creation in the Group. Therefore we have continuously supported the UN Global Compact initiative since 2003 and will continue our support in 2009”, says CEO Peter Arndrup Poulsen.
With over 4.700 business participants and other stakeholders from more than 130 countries, the Global Compact is an important forum that provides Hartmann with international legitimacy and access to a truly global platform for sustainable development. Our customers acknowledge our work within Global Compact and this gives us a competitive advantage compared to other packaging companies.
