"2006 has been a year of continued effort in assuring compliance with international labour standards at our production sites. In our company assessments carried out in 2005 we identified improvement potentials and this past year was used to implement these into daily practice. A very noteworthy outcome of this effort was the SA8000 certification obtained by Hartmann Croatia.
Our supplier evaluation process continued throughout the year with inclusion of even more suppliers, and great experience was gained in the process.
With the start up of a new production site in China we met new challenges in our work with sustainable development. Concerns regarding assurance of Hartmann’s sustainability profile were addressed at a very early stage in the process.
Our support to Global Compact is unchanged and in the coming year we will continue to conduct our business in accordance with the principles set out by the Global Compact initiative."
