"In 2003 Hartmann defined ten sustainability principles to specify the social engagement of the Group. These principles strengthened our efforts to integrate the Global Compact Principles into our daily practice.
2004 became the year where we prepared ourselves for documenting the level of complying with these principles in our own operations. Hartmann has long tradition for working with environmental issues and most of the production sites in the Group are currently ISO 14001 certified. Since 2004 Hartmann has focused on human rights and labour standards.
Global Compact will continue to play a major role in our activities going forward. The coming years we will focus our resources towards performance improvements at Group level. Through systematic assessment of management practices we wish to identify best practices and define actions for improved performance in the area of human rights and labour standards."
